Hey, I’m Sarah!
A personal trainer, group exercise instructor, fitness blogger, new mama (and therefore addicted to coffee right now!), and an entrepreneur at heart!
When I was about 8 years old, I asked for my very own business. So my dad made me one and gave it to me for Christmas. I spent hours making fake phone calls, taking messages, setting imaginary appointments, and writing checks for lots of money.
I’ve always loved being the boss lady, even as a little girl.
My first go at blogging was a chance for me to “call the shots” so to speak and write about whatever I wanted – and that I did. My old blog (Shh…Fit Happens) was a mix of workouts, inspirational posts, fitness tips, race recaps, basic nutrition advice, life events, and really just whatever I wanted to write about that day.
While I love fitness and sharing my passion with others, I realized I didn’t love writing about it ALL the time – at least not enough to have a whole blog dedicated to workouts and fitness tips.
Don’t get me wrong – those things are great – but I teach and train every day and writing about it when I got home started to not bring me joy and excitement anymore…
So, I thought about what does excite and inspire me.
I LOVE to read, write, and learn about the fitness business and entrepreneurship. I could talk for hours about business ideas, marketing, social media, and growing a business.
I am also super passionate about social good, helping others, and learning from those who are doing amazing + inspiring things in this world.
And that is how The Fit Niche came about.
It is a blog focused on fitness and the fit business, but more importantly, it is a community for fitness bloggers, fit pros, and personal trainers to learn, engage, and support one another!
The Fit Niche is a place for me to share my passion and knowledge and all the things I wish I knew when I started out in the fit biz!
Here you will find posts that offer easy-to-follow tips and advice about blogging, social media, marketing, personal training, and entrepreneurship (check out the Fitpreneur Interview series – so gooood!).
A little more about me…
I pick things up and put them down, that includes weights, my son, and cups of ☕️
I grew up lifting weights with my dad in our family shed turned weight room. That is where I learned all about reps, sets, and getting pumped up! 🙂
I played soccer and tennis in college, majored in Sports Management, and have been in the fitness industry on and off ever since (2005).
I like to stay active and exercise to feel good.
As much as I’ve tried, I don’t really like running!
I became a new mom in February to a handsome little dude.
I love Christmas and start listening to Christmas music November 1st!
You can usually find me wearing workout gear, sporting a messy bun, and drinking a coffee.
I love to learn about marketing and social media as it relates to growing an online business.
I recently decided to become a Stylist with Hazel and Deene (an ethical jewelry company that alleviates poverty by sourcing products from around the world). Just trying to do my small part to help change the world for good!
My full time job is a Fitness Director at a country club. I also train and teach 3-5 classes a week there.
I want to do what I love and also have time to spend with the people I love. Work smarter not harder…
I appreciate easy-to-follow, to the point, and actionable information that I can actually use.
I like to take long walks on beach (who doesn’t!?), eat ice cream, and do kettlebell swings.
I am just a gal living in eastern Pennsylvania who loves fitness, my family, and God.
Let’s stay connected!
